Michael F. Garaguso

Sa Bom Nim Garaguso began training at the age of 19 in Tang Soo Do on April 24th, 1977 after watching the movie Breaker, Breaker with Chuck Norris. He achieved his Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) in 1979, started teaching in 1980, and opened up his own studio in January of '84. Other notable dates include his Master ranking in 1990, 5th Dan in 1995, 6th Dan in 2001, and his most recent ranking of 7th Dan in 2008. Sa Bom Nim is the Chief Karate Instructor and also the head Fitness Instructor. Along with his training in Soo Bahk Do, he currently holds a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and believes highly in cross-training to be a well-rounded Martial Artist.

James J. Losasso
- 4th Degree Master Black Belt

Losasso Sa Bom Nim began training in Tang So Do/Soo Bahk Do Moo Duke Kwan in June 1991. He received his Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) in 1994. In 2004, he received his 4th Degree along with a Sa Bom Nim Certification (Certified Master Instructor). Losasso Sa Bom Nim has been assisting Garaguso Sa Bom Nim since he was a green belt in 1992 and currently instructs the Thursday night adult class.

Bernadette Migoley
- 4th Degree Master Black Belt, Purple Belt Gracie Jiu Jitsu
- Kickboxing Fitness Instructor

Migoley Sa Bom started her training in Soo Bahk Do on April 30th, 1994. She received her Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) in 1997 and in January of 2007, tested for her 4th Degree Master rank and Instructors Certification. Along with her training in Soo Bahk Do, she has earned a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and teaches all of the children's Jiu Jitsu classes. Migoley, Sa Bom also is an instructor in adult and children Soo Bahk Do classes and Cardio Kickboxing.

Alyssa (Garaguso) Huver
- 3rd Degree Black Belt, Blue Belt Gracie Jiu Jitsu

Mrs. Huver is a Sam Dan (3rd Degree Black Belt) in Soo Bahk Do and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She has been training since she was three years old, the first "Little Ninja" of Garaguso Karate, and is a certified Kindergarten through fifth grade Elementary School teacher and enjoys working with kids of all ages using martial arts as a vehicle to create future leaders. Mrs. Huver now teaches 1st Grade at White Hall Elementary School in Williamstown and assists in the Little Ninja classes in the Summer. She recently placed 3rd in forms in the Female 18-30 year old Sam Dan Division at the 2010 Soo Bahk Do Nationals & Festival Tournament.

Lar-el Garaguso
- 3rd Degree Black Belt, Blue Belt Gracie Jiu Jitsu

Miss Garaguso has been training in Soo Bahk Do since she was three years old. Currently, she is a Sam Dan (3rd Degree Black Belt) in Soo Bahk Do and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Lar-el is an instructor in the children's classes and currently runs the Little Ninja Program. She has been teaching since the age of 15 and enjoys it very much. She has also been a part of many martial arts demonstrations and has competed in many tournaments. Miss Garaguso recently placed 2nd in Forms and 3rd in Sparring in the Female 18-30 year old Sam Dan Division at the 2010 Soo Bahk Do Nationals & Festival Tournament.

Kira Garaguso
- 2nd Degree Black Belt

Miss Garaguso is the youngest Garaguso girl. She began training when she was four years old and is currently an Ee-Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt). Kira started assisting in classes in 2009 and especially enjoys working with her sisters in the Little Ninja classes. She recently placed 1st in Sparring and 3rd in Forms in the Female 15-17 year old Ee-Dan Division at the 2010 Soo Bahk Do Nationals & Festival Tournament.

Reece Wilke
- 2nd Degree Black Belt, Blue Belt Gracie Jiu Jitsu

Mr. Wilke has been training in Soo Bahk Do since the age of twelve. Currently, he is an Ee-Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt) in Soo Bahk Do and a Blue Belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu. He first joined Garaguso Black Belt Leadership Academy to learn self-defense and to become physically fit and in the process of training, he is achieving his goals. Mr. Wilke helps instruct in Children's Soo Bahk Do as well as Adult Classes. He just recently tested for his 2nd Degree Black Belt in October of 2010. He also placed 2nd in Sparring and 3rd in Forms in the Adult Male 18-30 year old Cho-Dan Division at the 2010 Soo Bahk Do Nationals & Festival Tournament.

Steve Carr
- 1st Degree Black Belt, Blue Belt Gracie Jiu Jitsu
- Assistant Program Director

Mr. Carr is a Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) in Soo Bahk Do and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has been training since June of 2008. He started assisting in kids classes as an orange belt and now runs the kids beginner program with Mr. Wilke. Mr. Carr recently placed 2nd in Sparring and 3rd in Forms in the Adult Male 18-30 year old Red Belt Division at the 2010 Soo Bahk Do Nationals & Festival Tournament. He is on the April 2013 Candidate cycle to test for his 2nd Degree Black Belt.

Barry Huver
- 1st Degree Black Belt
- Program Director

Mr. Huver is a Cho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) in Soo Bahk Do and has been training since June of 2008. He also has started cross-training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is working towards his Blue Belt. Mr. Huver is the Program Director at Garaguso Karate and currently assists in our Little Ninja Program with the special needs students. He is also maintaining the C.S.I. (Character Shaping Influences) program for students and is on the April 2013 Candidate cycle to test for his 2nd Degree Black Belt.
